Emergency Care

We are here to help

Emergency in practice hours: 01626 367972 and press 2 for emergency.

Emergency outside practice hours: 01392 284217

If you have or are concerned you have an emergency situation ring the practice as soon as it is safe to do so. For calls within practice hours one of our receptionists will either advise you to comedown straight away or transfer you to a clinical member of staff.

If you have an emergency outside practice hours you will be transferred to our emergency out of hours provider EVEs, based next to St David’s train station in Exeter (EX4 4NT) who will be able to help.

EVEs is essentially an animal accident and emergency unit. There is a vet and nurse in the building over night who are ready to go at all times. Although we appreciate that it may be further to drive to the emergency centre we feel that the time taken to drive to EVEs is shorter or equivalent to the time it would take to get a vet and nurse to the practice and set up to deal with an emergency.

For patients who stay overnight at South Devon Veterinary Hospital we have 24hr on-site nursing.
